Multipack Stretch

The multipacks are obtained by grouping the bottles with a printed Stretch Sleeve made of elastic LDPE (low density polyethylene).

No glue or heat shrink are required.
The stretch sleeve is made of a tube of Linear Low Density Polyethylene film with very high elastic properties.
The tube is obtained off-line by folding and seaming continuously the printed stretch film.
This tube is then flattened and pre-perforated at a constant pitch, so to allow the stretch sleeve label tear- off in the multipack machine.
This converting process, made preliminarily by the sleeve supplier, produces a reel of pre-perforated sleeves to be loaded on our machines which are able to stretch and fit the labels on the containers.
Thanks to the elastic properties of the film, the stretch sleeve does not require any glue application or heat shrink process to fit perfectly to the containers shape..

  • The Stretch Sleeve is made of polyethylene, a fully recyclable material.
  • Our machines can operate a wide range of pack sizes and forms, the operations for format changeover are simple and quick.
  • No heating of the packaging film involved in the process. No need for welding nor shrinking.
  • The electrical power requirement is much less than a shrink wrapping oven of corresponding capacity: about 8 Kw versus more than 50 !
  • No need to dry the bottles before the packing (some moisture, instead, helps the sleeve fitting on the bottles).
  • The machines are very compact and can be easily installed on existing lines. Furthermore at the output of the machine the Bi-packs are at ambient temperature, so there is no need for a long conveying to cool down the pack before the handling by the palletizer.
  • It allows for a very compact and space saving line lay-out. Compact machine integrated between sleeving machine and handle applicator, if handle is also needed
  • It covers a wide range of speeds from 20 ppm to 300 ppm and each model differs in capacity and production formats.
  • Special versions, called “MIX” for the production of multipacks with combined products of different flavours (for example 1 + 1, 3 + 1 etc)
  • Savings in the cost of materials for packaging. Material savings up to 50% compared to a shrink film
  • Full compatibility in terms of recycling, easy separation of the label from the container
  • High resistance to chemicals agents
  • Resistance to exposure to UV radiation
  • The line can be completed with the application of the cluster, an elastic sleeve that holds several multipacks together, as an alternative to the shrink wrapping, again without heat.

  • Adaptation on the shape of the single bottle: the label can follow the walls of the container.
